AL: Welcome to College Admissions Real Talk. This is Dr. Aviva Legatt, founder and Elite Admissions Expert at Ivy Insight and author of “Get Real and Get In”. Today we’re going to be discussing five reasons why you need to join our virtual summit right now. Our virtual summit is kicking off this week, Tuesday, March 23 and Wednesday, March 24. It’s on College Admissions in the Era of COVID-19, and this this is a very particular time in the world, in history and in your admissions process. We decided to organize the summit, and the speakers decided to come together because we all want to see you succeed in college and in life. So I really hope that you’ll sign up at collegeadmissionssummit.com or ivyinsight.com/virtual-summit. Here is a little bit about what we’re discussing and five reasons why you should definitely sign up today. 1. You’re probably really stressed, and believe me, we get it. There are a lot of changes in your exams. We’ve had people have last minute cancellations. Online schooling can be a bit of a mess. Sometimes we have students who are in-person. They switched online and switch back, or they’re just online and trying to figure that out. We have people to help with that at the summit. You also have to contend with things like new admissions policies. What is this “test-optional” thing? How do I navigate that? And how do I manage all of this with the upheaval in my school schedule? How do I build relationships with faculty, mentors, build my experiences? These questions are a lot to handle, even without a pandemic, and it’s hard to be a teenager in general, right? Not going to lie. I remember those days well, and it wasn’t always so easy, but we got you and we want you to get about information and support so that you can succeed. 2. You’re Zoom-fatigued. When you go online, you don’t want to just be accessing whatever YouTube videos happen to pop up after college admissions that day. You need access, really, to only the best information and get away from information overload. So that’s why we’ve brought these incredible experts to one place, to you, and you can access their knowledge in the comfort and convenience of your own home and your schedule. And this is a tip. If you’re super zoomed fatigued, you don’t even want to see anybody on video, –that’s why you like listening to podcasts like this– just wait for the replay and play it on audio only. This way, you don’t have to look at the video and you can relax and just listen to what’s being said. And the fun thing about our summit is that we’re making these fireside chats as opposed to lectures. It’s going to be very interactive and you will have the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers if you are able to attend any of the sessions live. 3. You’re needing connection with others concerned about college admissions. Really, we the speakers and I are here to answer your questions, and listen to your concerns. We get it. We are in it with you. We also wanted to offer you a bonus session on Club House on Thursday at 12 Eastern. You can join our Club House Club, which is called College Admissions Talk. You can follow me @avivalegatt. That’s my first name, last name with the @ symbol and you’ll be notified of when we go live and be able to join the room and the club again at 12 Eastern on Thursday, March 25. So come to the Summit. Check out the information, get any questions you have answered there in a more anonymous way and then chat with us on Club House on March 25. 4. You need guidance. We have these live Q&A so that you can get your questions answered in real time and the great thing is you’ll also be eligible for college-admissions-relevant prizes, low cost resources and connections, which will deepen your knowledge of the college process through this summit. And of course, if you need 1 on 1 support, a number of us are available for that as well. 5. You’re ready to embrace a brighter future. COVID is no joke. We are not living in a time of sunshine and roses, but that’s no reason to give up and not embrace the best of what is today and what is to come in the future. College should be part of that bright future, especially going to the college that’s right for you. With lots of schools beginning to announce resuming in person operations this fall, including high schools and colleges, the future is already looking brighter. So definitely sign up for the summit all week at collegeadmissionssummit.com When you sign up, you can attend live sessions, be eligible for prizes and access the replays for free through the weekend. Look forward to seeing you there. Take care.
