AL: Welcome to College Admissions Real Talk. This is Dr. Aviva Legatt, founder and Elite Admissions Expert at Ivy Insight and author of “Get Real and Get In”. Today, we’re going to be discussing essential COVID resources for 2021. Spring semester which is happening when this episode is released is typically a time when prospective college applicants visit schools meet with friends and counselors to discuss their options and start taking their first round of standardized tests. But with the timeline rocked by the Coronavirus pandemic, I wanted to take the opportunity to share a few resources that can help you during the first quarter of 2021 and help students and families make the most of this challenging time. So first, I want to let you know about an organization called the National Association of College Admissions Counseling, also known as NACAC. NACAC has developed a tool for colleges and universities to post updates about how they are adapting the impact of COVID-19. Within this tool there’s information about which colleges are hosting school visits which are extending deadlines and which have any policy related updates. There’s also a list of traditional National College fairs on their website. So you definitely want to check that out. The second resource is that colleges are creating virtual visit opportunities. In lieu of traditional campus visits, you can go to information sessions at colleges which have been curated in a list by the NACA Association that I just mentioned as well as another list that was created by a college counselor. You can actually find all these links on a Forbes article that I published back in March. Last but not least my company, Ivy Insight, is hosting a free college admissions virtual summit. The summit is designed for students and parents to make the most of their time during COVID-19. It will allow you to connect with experts in the field of college admissions, youth and leadership development, and you will benefit from attending by absorbing all the information that the speakers have to share as well as in receiving live experts guidance. So if you want to join for the summit. You can go to collegeadmissionssummit.com and all the information is on there it’s free. We hope to see you there. And if you have any questions about college tours and campus visits, Please send me a text 610-222-5762. Until next time.
